Baani Behniwal is a policy associate at Californians Against Waste, where she works on statewide plastic, compost, and food waste policy. Baani has a rounded, national and international food system perspective having done food policy advocacy in DC along with sustainable agriculture experience working in India and Latin America.
For the last three years, Jassy Grewal has been a legislative advocate with UFCW Western States Council where she focuses on issues related to grocery-retail, agriculture, cannabis, and healthcare industries with a focus on workforce development and workplace safety. UFCW Western States Council works tirelessly to uplift workers and their families voices and standard of living through organizing, mobilizing, and advocating.
Stephanie Stevens is the program manager at California FarmLink where she oversees farmer education and land access. She spent the previous eight years serving farmers in the Sierra Foothills region, organizing Sierra Harvest’s Sustainable Food and Farm Conference, the Nevada County Food Policy Council, and managing the Nevada City Farmers Market. Due to her commitment to the agricultural community in Nevada County, she was appointed to the Penn Valley Area Municipal Advisory Council by county supervisor Hank Weston in 2017.
